healthy living week, day 2 & travel tuesday

hi lovlies.
it's a beautiful morning here in western north carolina.  spring is finally here!!  it's about time, that's all i can say.

mother nature finally got over her ridiculousness...

so it's day two of my healthy living week, and i've got some amazing snack ideas for you!

when i first got started on my health kick, i was unaware that the more you ate, the better.  what?!?  that's ridic right?  nope!  it actually makes perfect sense.  the more frequently you eat throughout the day, the more you body has to work to break it down.  let me put in simpler terms for you... it speeds up your metabolism.

here is my meal schedule for the day:

8am: breakfast
10am: snack
12pm: light lunch
2 pm:  light snack
4pm: light snack before my workout (usually a protein bar)
6-8pm: light supper

i actually found it hard for me to eat more frequently, but once you get used to it, it's pretty easy.

here are some healthy snack ideas for your mid morning munchies.

#1: 1 tbsp peanut butter on whole wheat toast
#2: 1 cup of vanilla greek yogurt with almonds and honey (my personal favorite)
#3: 1/2 apple with 1 tbsp peanut butter


these are just a few ideas for some healthier snack choices.  tomorrow i will give you some amazing lunch ideas for you to try!

in the mean time check out these awesome health tips from the wife.

*drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.  i found it's easier for me to fill a large 1 liter water bottle up in the morning.  my goal is to drink all of it by lunch time and fill it up again on my lunch break.  i drink half it before i go to the gym, and the other half while i'm working out.  it helps to have a bottle that is already marked so you don't have to guess.

*stay away from diet drinks.  this is hard for me because i sneak a diet coke every once in a while, but y'all they are so bad for you.  artificial sweeteners are terrible for your body.  (i need to take my own advice sometimes)

*avoid foods that read "low fat" or "fat free".  some are ok, but make sure you read the labels.  most of the fat free stuff actually has more stuff in it (most of which i can't even pronounce)

which brings me to my next tip

*READ YOUR LABELS*
guys this is so easy to do.  and it's pretty fool proof.  everything you buy will have a serving size, calorie count, fat count etc...

let's talk about the time i went to cancun.
such a beautiful place.  but i have to tell you that i don't have many pictures of the beautiful blue water.  mainly because we spent most of our time at the pool.  where we had unlimited drinks and dance music.  oh yes, i was one happy girl.

will i ever go back?  um yes!  i've already started the countdown.  5 months to go!! 
so i guess it's a good thing i've started my healthy eating and working out.  gotta get bikini ready.

  6. I need to go on vaction!! we are in the middle of planning one!
    I wish i couldbe more diligent about eating i only eat like twice a day but im pretty sure why why i wam the size that i am because my body is always in starvation mode
