why a healthy lifestyle is so important & a meal plan


living a healthy lifestyle is not only good for you, but it will save your life!
better lifestyle habits will reduce your risk of many diseases.
not living a healthy lifestyle can lead to heart disease, cancer, and obesity

the national institute of health states that 4 of the 6 leading causes of death are linked to an unhealthy lifestyle.

there are 2 main factors why americans live an unhealthy lifestyle:
1.unhealthy diets
2. lack of excersise

here's a fun fact for you:
the united states ranks #1 in obesity in the world! 
and honestly i'm not even that shocked.
americans are busy individuals.  we're so caught up in everyday life that anything fast is our go-to.  if it's easy to get, we'll get it. 
that's why fast food is so popular in our country.  it's something quick to grab when we're on the go.

lack of physical activity is a biggie.
the center for disease control states that only 48% of americans ages 18 and over, are physically active.
that's less than half. 

so what is the reason for this post?  to make others out there aware of these statistics and hopefully change the lives of other women.

i thought that today i would share with you a typical daily meal plan.
my goal is to help others get healthy!


now i'm not perfect and yes i do cheat.  but most days this is what i eat.
some of you may be saying "um jennifer, that doesn't look tasty at all"
ladies, there are so many ways to prepare food, and make it taste amazing and still make it healthy.
be creative ;-)
 there are also so many websites out there with a ton of healthy recipes.  check out the dashing dish.
this woman is amazing!  her blog is something that i think all of you would LOVE, and plus she has some AWESOME recipes that are both healthy and delicious.

now remember that just eating healthy isn't going to get you the maximum benefits.  physical activity is a must!
this can be anything from going on a walk, to jogging, or even joining a local fitness class.
there are even small workouts that you can do from home!
i know that a lot of gyms will give you a free personal training lesson as well, so that is definitely something to check out.
